
Born in Brisbane in 1961, Cheryl spent most of her childhood breeding birds, bushwalking, drawing and painting.
Cheryl moved to the Lake Macquarie district of NSW when she was 19 where she bred parrots and spent a lot of time rock climbing, bushwalking, camping, caving and photographing birds.
In 1984 Cheryl moved to Cairns where she spent the next 17 years living in the lush tropical rainforest, this was a huge inspiration for her love of painting the reef and rainforest. From there she travelled extensively throughout the country painting Australia’s diverse fauna and flora.
Cheryl’s main interest is in capturing the tremendous diversity and intricate beauty of Australia’s environmental heritage. Her life long fascination with birds has led her to camp out in most climates and terrains of Australia photographing and sketching.
Cheryl has had many major exhibitions throughout all states of Australia and Japan while she owned two Galleries in Cairns. Cheryl has also been commissioned to do a lot of corporate work for large companies and resorts, she also has over 20 prints and 40 greeting cards and postcards printed. Cheryl’s works are a part of many prominent collections throughout Australia and overseas.
Cheryl now resides in the foothills of the Toowoomba ranges.
